eSIM Metric

About eSIM Metric

Who we are: an independent comparison of travel eSIM data plans built on official provider feeds, updated daily.

🌐 This content is currently available in English.

Our mission

eSIM Metric exists to make mobile data abroad simple and cheap. We collect plan catalogs and public prices from licensed eSIM providers, normalize them into one comparable table, and point you straight to the official checkout.

How the data works

Prices and plan details are pulled from the official public feeds of each provider (currently Airalo and GigSky) and refresh automatically every day. Prices are shown in USD. When a provider runs a promotion, we display both the theoretical list price (struck through) and the actual discounted price.

We never invent data. If a plan has an unknown data size, it is shown as a dash instead of a guess.

Independence

Rankings such as "Best Value" are computed algorithmically from the price-per-GB and the total price of each plan — not from commission size. See our Affiliate Disclosure for the business model, and Terms of Service for the rules that govern this site.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is an eSIM and how does it work?

An eSIM (embedded SIM) is a digital SIM profile built directly into your smartphone hardware. You simply scan a QR code to activate mobile data instantly without swapping physical plastic cards.

Can I keep my WhatsApp and original phone number?

Yes. Travel eSIMs only handle mobile data. Your primary phone number remains active for SMS, phone calls, and messaging apps like WhatsApp or Telegram.

When should I install my eSIM before traveling?

We recommend installing your eSIM before departure using Wi-Fi at home or the airport. The validity period usually begins only when you connect to a supported local network at your destination.
